QuickHit: ‘Hell or High Water’

One of my favorite films of last year was Sicario and I was excited to see the next film written by Taylor Sheridan. The tension Sicario is able to display is unparalleled and Hell or High Water never quite hits the mark, but it still scratches that same itch. The story is a tried and true Western tale set in modern day West Texas. It never really brings anything new to the table but it executes on what it needs to almost perfectly. It was amazing seeing an understated role for Chris Pine. I’m not the biggest fan on Ben Foster, I usually find his characters grating. He walks the line in this film but ultimately he was totally fine. Jeff Bridges was about as solid as you can get. Great film.
