Review: ‘The Walking Dead’ 7.15 – ‘Something They Need’

They really need those guns, you guys…

Something They Need could be marked as another filler episode in a season arguably filled with filler episodes. Not to say they weren’t enjoyable, but a lot of what happened this season can be boiled down to a formula. Our heroes contact a community about fighting the saviors, the new community disagrees at first but comes around to joining the cause. The good thing about this episode was that the formula concluded at the end of it. We didn’t need multiple episodes of Seafront dragging their feet. It was fun seeing our group work as a team and get stuff done. Even if their reasoning for setting up bombs and shooting near innocent people didn’t really come off sd genuine.

The other half of this episode caught us up with Sasha. Captured, not dead as I had suspected at the end of last episode. It seems clear that her role going forward will be one of double agent. She will have the arc that I thought Eugene would have. Play along and strike against the saviors at the most opportune moment. Most likely going down in a blaze of glory while saving her friends in the process. Sasha is such a great character and has such skill that it is still kind of infuriating that the writers expect us to believe she would be stupid enough to attack in the way she did.

Anyway, on to the EXTENDED SEASON FINALE!!!!!!!!!
